Farewell program held at Fazl Ali College in honor of Dr Bendangtemjen and Dr Lanurenla

Mokokchung, 3 November (MTNews): Fazl Ali College (FAC) Farewell Program in honor of Dr Bendangtemjen, Associate Professor, Dept of Geography, and Dr Lanurenla, Associate Professor, Dept of English, transferred on promotion as Principals to Zisaji Presidency College, Kiphire and Sao Chang College, Tuensang respectively.

A farewell program in honor of the two officers was held at the college conference hall on the 3rd of November 2023. Principal Dr I Wati Imchen in his speech said that the college will not be the same with two important pillars leaving the college. He further in his speech appreciated the amount of enthusiasm & sacrifice made by the two promoted officers.

Speaking of Dr Bendangtemjen the Principal described him as a gentle person willing to take all kinds of responsibility beyond measure and considered him as one of the most important organs of the institution for his immense contributions to the college in various capacities.

Speaking of Dr Lanurenla, the Principal in his speech said that the day she joined the college the phase of the college changed, and her ideas and willingness to contribute have greatly impacted the college. He also acknowledged the fruit of the efforts of IQAC led by her.

The Fazl Ali College Teachers’ Association President also spoke on behalf of the faculty members. The president in his speech acknowledged the involvement of the two promoted officers over the years in the association in different capacities by shouldering different roles and responsibilities.

Geography HOD Dr Tsukjemchila Imchen on behalf of the department spoke on the occasion and recounted Dr Bendangtemjen as a thoughtful person and a meticulous planner, a beloved teacher, a mentor and a leader with great team leadership. She also in her speech expressed appreciation of Dr Lanurenla for her incomparable oratory skill and described her as a visionary leader.

Bendangsenla in her speech on behalf of the department of English said that Dr Lanurenla is a gifted person and of the many gifts one of which is her articulateness and her conviction to serve the people. She said that Dr Lanurenla has “shown us a seemingly impossible grade under NAAC in her leadership.”

General Secretary of FASCU, Mr Asensor, spoke on behalf of the student community. In his speech he said both the promoted teachers exemplified the highest level of dedication and both of them value the student’s opinions and future. He further said both of them are the “beacons of hope for students of all over Nagaland.”

Dr Bendangtemjen in his farewell speech thanked everyone for the wonderful program for all the good memories over the years.

Dr Lanurenla, in her farewell speech, reminisced about her 16 years of service in the college and shared her many experiences and memories. She also thanked all the retired principals and retired teachers for their support and encouragement.

The program ended with a prayer of blessing from Mrs Apokla, Steno.
