To facilitate better farming practices and increased production, the Agricultural Technology Management Agency (ATMA), Tuli Block, Mokokchung, conducted demonstrations on 28th August 2024 at Tuli town. The resource persons were Imlisunep Ajem, BTM, and Imlipokim Pongener, ATM, ATMA, Tuli Block.
The topics covered included demonstrations on cultivation practices for garlic and potato, as well as nursery bed management for cabbage. During the program, Imlisunep Ajem, BTM, explained that garlic is a widely grown crop around the world, commonly used for flavoring and medicinal purposes. He further discussed cultivation practices and demonstrated soil preparation and line sowing of seeds. Ajem also emphasized the importance of potato as a crucial tuber crop, widely consumed, and provided insights into its cultivation practices. A hands-on demonstration was conducted on soil preparation and maintaining proper spacing between plants and rows.
Meanwhile, the block also conducted a demonstration on “Nursery Bed Management of Cabbage,” led by Imlipokim Pongener. He emphasized the importance of a nursery bed as the foundation for nurturing plants, highlighting its nutritive value and market demand. Shri Pongener later demonstrated nursery bed preparation and line sowing of seeds to the farmers. Altogether, 30 farmers attended the program.
