A two day long workshop on “The Fashion Designers’ Toolkit: IP, Branding & Business Essentials” concluded today at Centre of Excellence for Music and Arts (CEMA), Kohima, with valuable takeaways, positive feedback, and renewed energy from the design and creative community.

Organized by the Task Force for Music and Arts (TaFMA), Government of Nagaland, in collaboration with the Fashion & Law Journal (FLJ), and supported by the Nagaland Designers’ Association (NDA) and TS Academy of Design, the workshop brought together 75 participants over two days for intensive learning on fashion law, branding, e-commerce, and entrepreneurship.

Day 2 began with an encouraging address by Dr. Hovithal Sothu, Project Director of TaFMA, who reminded participants of the importance of actively engaging with the learning process and applying this knowledge in their professional journeys.

The day progressed with an interactive activity session led by Michelle, followed by an engaging talk from Ankita, who shared insights and personal lessons on navigating e-commerce as a fashion entrepreneur.

In the following session, Anuj Kumar and Michelle from Fashion & Law Journal conducted a comprehensive module on brand building—covering both practical strategies and legal frameworks essential for independent designers.

Participants shared positive feedback, expressing that the workshop gave them clarity, direction, and tools to approach their craft more confidently and professionally.

The afternoon featured the valedictory program, which began with feedbacks from Rosou Rhi, president of Nagaland Designers’ Association and Theja Sekhose of Fashion Academy.

Certificates of participation and the specially designed Fashion Designers’ Handbook were handed out to all attendees.

The workshop ended on a high note-reinforcing the vision of building a fashion ecosystem in Nagaland that is not only creative but also professionally empowered, legally aware, and business-ready.
