Fazl Ali College clubs host creative workshop on stage décor
Resource persons Tutu Jamir and Nungshijungla highlighted that stage decoration extends beyond flowers and stressed the importance of teamwork, sustainability, and environmental responsibility in design. They emphasized factors such as background, lighting, furniture placement, theme, and color, while also pointing to technical aspects like electrical access for sound, light, and screen setup.

Participants were introduced to principles of floral decoration, including balance, proportion, rhythm, harmony, and unity. Trainers also elaborated on the five elements of floral design—line, color, form, space, and texture—and explained the 3–5–8 rule: three types of flowers, five stems of greenery, and eight stems of filler flowers.

Live demonstrations featured foam folding, net cutting, the use of floral tapes, and arrangement techniques. Students and faculty then engaged in hands-on practice, creating their own stage decorations. Common mistakes such as overcrowding, poor lighting, and blocked décor were also discussed.

The workshop concluded with participants gaining practical experience and confidence to design creative and sustainable stage arrangements for future events.
