The Language Translation Centre (LTC), Fazl Ali College (FAC), Mokokchung, released two books, Sayuren Ka Indang Jilushitem and Kiyimpa Noksasep, on November 28 at the college’s conference hall.
The first book, Sayuren Ka Indang Jilushitem, is an adaptation and translation of the works of Padma Shri T Senka Ao and Padma Shri Temsula Ao into plays in the Ao language. It was released by Padma Shri T Senka Ao.
The translation team includes Dr. Lanurenla, Principal, Sao Chang College and associate member of LTC, FAC: I Yashikala Jamir, Assistant Professor, Department of English, FAC; Maongienla and Imwapangla Imsong, Assistant Professors, Department of English; and Toshisangla and Repabenla, Assistant Professors, Department of Ao, FAC.
The second book, Kiyimpa Noksasep, is an Ao translation of the play Wedding Album by Girish Karnad. It is translated by Bendangsenla, Associate Professor, Department of English, and was released by Tinaro Jamir, President of Watsü Mungdang.
During the book release programme, Dr. Lanurenla spoke on the history of the LTC and the journey behind the two books. She thanked all individuals who contributed to the successful release of the books, especially K. Temjen Jamir, Editor, Tir Yim Yim; Dr. Nandira Changkija, wife of Late Jemti Mollier; and Tongpang Ozukum for their support in printing the books.
Dr. Wati Imchen, Principal, FAC, and Toshisangla, Director, LTC, also spoke at the programme.
The Fazl Ali College Language Translation Centre was established as a joint effort of the Departments of Ao and English, Fazl Ali College, on March 16, 2021.
