Mokokchung, 11 August (MTNews): Fazl Ali College (FAC),Mokokchung held its annual Freshers’ Day event in the college auditorium to warmly welcome the newly admitted batch of 2023. The event, led by students, featured two sessions – a formal session and an informal one.
Principal I Wati Imchen delivered a heartfelt welcome address to the new students, assuring them of a memorable journey and an exciting learning experience ahead. He emphasized that the college had taken significant strides in alignment with the New Education Policy of 2020, focusing on holistic student development and enhancing their employability post-graduation.
Representing the freshers, Mejenna T Longkumer, a first-semester BSc student, delivered a speech. The formal session concluded with a special prayer for the freshers, led by Pastor Lima Lemtur from Union Church at Fazl Ali College.
The second session was designed to select the new Mr and Ms Fresher 2023. Participants engaged in several rounds, including ethnic, casual, formal, and a question round, showcasing their confidence and intelligence.
Following a spirited competition, Putusosang from the BA 1st Semester Political Science Department and Angela Zhimo from the BA 1st Semester English Department were crowned Mr and Ms Fresher 2023, respectively.
Additionally, the event recognized winners of three subtitle categories: Mr and Ms Congeniality, Mr and Ms Runway, and Best Ethnic Wear. Asensor Jamir, Secretary of Social Services, Fazl Ali College Students’ Union (FACSU), delivered a vote of thanks.
The program came to a close with the crowning of the new Mr and Ms Fresher by the winners of the previous year.
