Fazl Ali College (FAC), Mokokchung, will host a two-day national conference titled “Reimagining Development and Governance in North-East India: Pathways for Inclusive and Sustainable Futures (ReD&GoNE 2026)” on April 15 and 16 at its campus.
The conference is being jointly organised by the Departments of Economics, Sociology and Political Science, Fazl Ali College, and is sponsored by the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC), FAC. It aims to provide an interdisciplinary platform for scholars, researchers, academicians, policymakers and civil society practitioners to deliberate on emerging challenges and opportunities related to development and governance in North-East India, while also engaging with wider national and global perspectives.
According to the organisers, the conference will focus on examining shifting development paradigms in the region, participatory governance and decentralisation, and sustainable development strategies rooted in local contexts and aligned with global goals. It also seeks to strengthen dialogue between academia, policymakers and civil society.
Scholars have been invited to submit abstracts by February 28, with acceptance notifications to be issued by March 5. Full papers must be submitted by March 20. The best three presentations will be recognised with the “ReD&GoNE 2026 Top Paper Presenter” awards, while selected papers will be considered for publication in a special 2026 edition of the peer-reviewed FAC Journal.
The conference is being held under the patronage of Principal Dr I. Wati Imchen, with IQAC Coordinator Bendangsenla as co-patron.
