Kohima came alive on Saturday, April 12, with the electrifying ‘Festival of Speed’, presented by JK Tyre Motorsport, at the Thizama 4th Battalion NAP grounds. The event marked the 25th Anniversary of the Nagaland Adventure & Motor Sports Association (NAMSA) and brought together motorsport enthusiasts from across the region for an unforgettable celebration.
The festivities kicked off with Neingulie Nakhro as the Master of Ceremonies, followed by a welcome address from Tovi Chophi, General Secretary of NAMSA. Hari Singh, Head of Operations at JK Tyres & Industries Limited, reaffirmed the company’s dedication to nurturing motorsports in India. Kuputo Shohe, Advisor to NAMSA, led a special felicitation segment, honouring the association’s enduring contribution to the sport. A musical interlude and a vote of thanks by Lhouvi Punyü rounded out the formal proceedings.
Spectators were treated to exhilarating displays of driving prowess, screeching tires, and powerful stunts that captured the true essence of motorsports. The Festival of Speed not only celebrated NAMSA’s milestone anniversary but also inspired a new generation of motorsport enthusiasts in Nagaland.
