The Federal Government of Nagaland (FGN) has issued a warning notice against Sukhai Awomi, also known as Asukha Awomi, accusing him of illegally collecting taxes in the name of the NNC/FGN despite his termination from the organisation in September 2023.

In a statement issued by Tusoveyi Demo, Deputy Kilo Kilonser, the FGN said it had received several complaints against Awomi regarding his “continuous engagement in collecting taxes” under the name of the Naga National Council/Federal Government of Nagaland (NNC/FGN).

The statement maintained that Awomi was terminated from the FGN in late September 2023 and has “nothing to do with the NNC/FGN.”

The FGN strictly warned Awomi to immediately cease what it termed as illegal activities and to stop tarnishing the image of the NNC/FGN. It further stated that failure to comply with the warning would compel the authority to “take its own course of action against him as per the law.”

The organisation also urged the general public and business establishments, particularly in Dimapur, not to deal or entertain Awomi in any form. It cautioned that any individual or entity engaging with him would be doing so at their own risk.
