The FIFA World Cup Trophy will make its first ever visit to Guwahati on January 13 next year as part of the FIFA World Cup Trophy Tour. Assam Chief Secretary Ravi Kota announced the development on social media platform X, stating that he had “chaired a meeting yesterday with all concerned stakeholders and representatives from the Sports Department to discuss the proposed Original FIFA World Cup Trophy Tour scheduled to arrive in Guwahati on 13th January 2026.”

Kota led discussions on the preparations for the event, which will be held under the Coke Studio banner. The meeting was attended by representatives from the Coca-Cola Company, the CEO of North East United Football Club, senior officials from relevant State and Central Government Departments and Agencies, and officials of GIAL.
