Kohima, 27 May (MTNews): The Film Association of Nagaland (FAN) has appointed a new team, with Yapangnaro Longkumer as its President. The team includes Tiakumzuk Aier as Vice President, Athe Rhi as General Secretary, Gaichungpou Gonmei as Finance Secretary, Vibuo Seyie as Assistant Finance Secretary, and Imnasenla Vero and Supongnukshi Pongener as Press Secretaries.

Film Association of Nagaland is a cohesive collective of professionals in the film industry in Nagaland. Established in 2018, FAN is a registered non-governmental and non-profit organization comprising professionals from the Nagaland film industry. With approximately 50 dedicated members, including filmmakers, cinematographers, editors, actors, and scriptwriters, FAN aims to enrich the film community through skill development and storytelling, promoting appreciation for various cinematic forms.

In collaboration with the Directorate of Information & Public Relations, Nagaland, FAN organized the 2nd Nagaland Film Festival from 31 October to 1 November, 2019. The festival showcased 17 North Eastern films and held competitions in the Best Short Fiction and Best Short Documentary categories.

FAN also orchestrated the 3rd Nagaland Film Festival in Kohima in collaboration with the Directorate of Information & Public Information from 3-5 December 2021. The event featured master classes and workshops conducted by industry experts, fostering interactions between attendees and filmmakers from across India. Additionally, an online film competition, “The New Normal,” was held.

On 22 and 23 June 2022, FAN celebrated its induction into The Federation of Film Societies of India (FFSI). The event, graced by FFSI Asia Pacific Vice President Premendra Mazumdar as the guest of honor from Kolkata, marked FAN’s integration into a broader network of film societies across India.
