A devastating fire broke out in Kipongya Ward, Zone 6, Kisingki, located about 3 km from Fire Station Kiphire, at 5:40 AM on Tuesday. According to reports, the fire call was promptly received, and the fire station swiftly responded by deploying two Water Tankers (WTP) along with sufficient manpower to combat the blaze.

After more than an hour of intense firefighting, the fire was successfully brought under control. Despite the distance and lack of road connectivity, the team managed to reach the site and prevent what could have been a much larger disaster, a report received here stated.

The fire caused significant damage, with six rooms and three kitchens completely razed. However, due to the timely and effective intervention of the firefighting team, approximately 7 to 10 nearby households were saved from destruction.

Two minor casualties were reported in the incident. The injured were provided first aid at the District Hospital.

Officials noted that the deployment of WTPs and trained personnel played a crucial role in containing the fire and preventing further damage. The cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained.
