The first district-level inter-school Sepaktakraw Tournament 2026 was held at the Public Ground, Noklak, on September 7 under the theme “Unity Through Sport: Reviving the Traditional Kick.”
The tournament was organised by the All Nagaland Private Schools Association (ANPSA), Noklak Unit, in collaboration with the Department of Youth Resources and Sports.
Speaking as the chief guest, Khiamniungan Students’ Union, headquarters Noklak, president Shangchiu said sports have the power to inspire, unite people and create hope. He stressed the importance of fair play and sportsmanship, saying sports provide opportunities without discrimination. He also encouraged students to overcome personal challenges before seeking to bring change in others.
Holy Angels School emerged as the champion and will represent Noklak district at the state-level Sepaktakraw tournament. St. Paul School and Christian Higher Secondary School also participated.
The programme included a welcome address by ANPSA Noklak Unit president P. Chongtin, a special presentation by Jesham K. of Christian Higher Secondary School and administration of the oath by Suko Khiam, assistant teacher, St. Paul School. The programme was chaired by Asoni of St. Paul School, with invocation by Tiajungba Ao, pastor, Ao Baptist Church, Noklak. Fr. John, vice president, ANPSA Noklak Unit, delivered the vote of thanks.
