The first edition of the Satakhami Union Dimapur and Western Satoi Range Public Union’s two-day sports exchange programme, themed “Unity Through Sports,” began today at the Multi-Disciplinary Sports Complex, Dimapur. The event is organized in collaboration with the Satakha Range Students Union and the Satoi Range Students Union.

G Kaito Aye, Minister for PWD (Roads and Bridges), Nagaland, attended as the Special Guest, while retired IAS officer Kiheto Zhimo delivered a greeting message.
In his address, Aye emphasized the importance of unity among the Satakha people, reminding that the constituency should not be divided along block or area lines. He traced the administrative history of Satoi Block and noted that it now fully falls under Satakha Constituency. He reaffirmed that “irrespective of future delimitation exercises, Satoi and Satakha will remain one.”
Encouraging urban residents to reconnect with their roots, Aye urged them to “share knowledge, promote unity, and take moral responsibility for the development of their homeland.” He called on retired citizens to return and contribute to local progress. Aye also proposed integrating the Satakha Area Sports and Cultural Association (SASCA) with a community-driven Satakha Club to develop youth talent.
Focusing on education, the Minister pledged to establish a government college in Satakha Town if educational standards continue to improve. He also appealed for collective effort toward building a progressive and self-reliant community.
Kiheto Zhimo, IAS (Retd.), in his message, urged the people to live with integrity and reverence for God. “Never allow easy or ill-gotten money to educate your children,” he said, “because such money will never bear good fruit.”
In his welcome address, Hukato Muru, Convenor of the Organizing Committee, said that 31 villages from the Satakha Constituency are participating in the event, featuring competitions in badminton and volleyball.
