Personnel of the Chiephobozou Police Station, Kohima has arrested five individuals in connection with a robbery and theft case reported from Nerhe Model Village.


According to the police, the complaint was initially filed on March 12, 2025, regarding the theft of a car’s engine and gearbox from a garage. Following a thorough investigation, five suspects were apprehended on May 6. The arrested individuals have been identified as Petekhrietuo (22), Ruokuozhalie (24), Neizasetuo (26), Raj (25), and Throngpise (25).

Preliminary investigations revealed that the accused were not only involved in the Nerhe theft case but were also linked to incidents of housebreaking and the theft of iron materials within the Chiephobozou Police Station jurisdiction. The stolen items were reportedly sold to scrap dealers. Additionally, the group is believed to have committed thefts in the Jalukie area.

A case has been registered at Chiephobozou Police Station under Case No. 0001/25, invoking Section 305/3/(5) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).

The police commended the efforts of the investigation team and acknowledged the support and cooperation of the public in advancing the case. Further updates will be shared as the investigation progresses.
