President Droupadi Murmu has appointed five officers of the Nagaland Civil Service (NCS) to the Indian Administrative Service (IAS) under the Select List of 2024, placing them on probation until further orders.
The officers elevated to the IAS are Orenthung Lotha, Anthony Ngully, L. Jamithung Lotha, Kuko Mero, and John Tsulise Sangtam.
A notification issued on 11 December by Sanjay Kumar Chaurasia, Under Secretary, Department of Personnel and Training, Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions, stated that the appointments were made against vacancies determined under Regulation 5(1) in consultation with the State Government.
Under the terms of the notification, the officers have been allocated to the Nagaland cadre in accordance with Rule 5(1) of the IAS (Cadre) Rules, 1954.
