The Five Tribes Committee on Review of Reservation Policy (CoRRP) has set a deadline of September 30 for the state government to constitute the Reservation Review Commission along with its Terms of Reference. The decision comes after the state government remained unresponsive to the CoRRP’s three-point demands submitted to the Chief Secretary on August 9 and following delays in issuing the notification for setting up the Commission.

The committee warned that failure to meet the deadline will trigger the third phase of agitation, including a total shutdown in all districts inhabited by the five tribes. The resolution was passed unanimously by the house, emphasizing the urgency of addressing the long-pending Reservation Review Commission.

Speaking to the media after a meeting in Kohima today, Convenor Tesinlo Semy, said, if the commission is not established within the timeframe, the committee will launch an indefinite shutdown from October 1 in their respective jurisdictions.
