CDFA enforces AIFF tournament rules
The Chümoukedima District Football Association (CDFA) has issued a directive mandating all football clubs, futsal teams, academies, and individual players under its jurisdiction to notify and seek prior approval from the CDFA before organizing or participating in any football, futsal, or other football-related tournaments within the district.
According to the CDFA, this directive follows the All India Football Federation’s (AIFF) Circular No. 35, dated June 19, 2024, which outlines clear guidelines to ensure regulatory oversight of footballing activities across all levels.
The CDFA, in its official notification, emphasized that “organising or participation in any football, futsal, or other football-related tournament under Chümoukedima district, must be duly notified to and approved by the CDFA.”
The association further warned that failure to obtain such approval “may be deemed a violation of AIFF, NFA and CDFA regulations.”
Citing AIFF recommendations, the CDFA stated that “no AIFF-registered player, coach, or referee is permitted to take part in unauthorized or unregistered tournaments.” It added that clubs and academies are responsible for ensuring tournaments are sanctioned by the district or state association.
The CDFA also cautioned that “disciplinary action will be taken against any individual or team found in violation of this directive.” Possible consequences include suspension, disqualification from future tournaments, and other penalties under the rules of the AIFF, the Nagaland Football Association (NFA), and the CDFA.
“Therefore, all concerned are strictly instructed to submit a formal notification to the CDFA office well in advance of any intended participation in such events,” the association stated.
