A joint inspection of the ongoing Nagaland Foothills Road construction under Longleng Sector was carried out by the Nagaland Foothill Road Coordination Committee (NFHRCC), officials from the concerned Department, representatives of the contractor firm, and the Phom People’s Council (PPC).

Following the inspection, a meeting was held at Yonglok Village, bringing together the Village Councils of the Namsang area and Anaki Village. During the gathering, community members extended their full support to the NFHRCC for what they described as its “visionary directive” in making the long-cherished dream of the Foothills Road a reality.
The public also conveyed their appreciation to the State Government, particularly the Chief Minister, Shri Neiphiu Rio, and the Minister for PWD (R&B), G Kaito Aye, for what they termed an inclusive approach in fulfilling the aspirations of the 12 tribes of Nagaland. They acknowledged the role of the NFHRCC in spearheading the initiative since its inception in 2013.
The joint inspection team reported that the ongoing maintenance road project under the Longleng Division has achieved 60% physical completion. Based on this assessment, the inspection team endorsed the recommendation to the concerned department for the timely release of funds to facilitate further progress.
