Mokokchung, November 22 (MTNews): The Nagaland Foothill Road Coordination Committee (NFHRCC) conducted a joint inspection tour of the portion of the foothills road that falls under Baghty Division on November 23. This was done on the invitation of the PWD(R&B) led by its Chief Engineer Er Kevide Nakhro and the Addl CE, a press release from NFHRCC informed. The motorable Foothills Road contractor firm M/S T Tachu & Co and representatives of Lotha Lower Range CSOs like the LLRPO and YAPO were also part of the inspection, it added.

 

The NFHRCC appreciated the Chief Engineer and his team for painstakingly taking initiatives to visit the road constructions and patiently taking the grievances of all the stakeholders’ suggestions and predicaments in a positive note.

 

The NFHRCC also urged the Nagaland PWD (R&B) to release the running bills to the contractors on performance based proportions as agreed upon on July 23, 2022 resolutions.

 

NFHRCC said it is hopeful that the Department will initiate the inauguration of the “historic Nagaland’s longest bridge” at the Governor’s Camp, Liphanyan at the earliest in the interest of the general public as the bridge has already been completed. It further thanked the Government of Nagaland and the bridge construction firm M/S L Pukhato Shohe & Sons for completing the bridge in spite of numerous challenges and hiccups over the years.
