Prominent political leaders belonging to various political parties from Peren district led by three Independent Candidates to the recently held Peren Town Council polls joined the Congress Party today at Congress Bhavan, Jalukie Town, in the presence of Nagaland Pradesh Congress Committee (NPCC) President and Member of Parliament (Lok Sabha), S Supongmeren Jamir; Capt GK Zhimomi, NPCC Vice President; Rosy Thompson, NPCC General Secretary; X Chophika Sumi, President NSUI Nagaland; Namdatbou, Councillor, Jalukie Town Council; Ngimtalakpe, Councillor, Peren Town Council; NPCC leaders and a host of party functionaries from Peren district.


According to a press release, the MP while speaking at the reception program, thanked and welcomed the new entrants on behalf of the Indian National Congress and exhorted them to work hand in hand in the service of the people of Nagaland and the Nation in general under the progressive and inclusive guiding principles of the Congress Party.

He also underscored the responsibilities and importance of the opposition’s role in a representational democracy like ours and challenged the gathering to steadfastly advocate for the rights of the common people of the state.

List of the new entrants include: Independent candidates, Peren Town Council Poll 2024 Kezaiyilung Thou, Lungsidaile Meru, and Kenlunpeule Hegwang; Tohei Nda, Former President, 7 Peren Assembly Constituency NPF unit; Insilung Kenn, former Vice-President, 7 Peren Assembly Constituency NPF unit; Namga Ndang, former General Secretary, 7 Peren Assembly Constituency NPF unit; Heidising Chamlak, Member, 7 Peren Assembly Constituency NPF unit; Heuneilung, Retired Director, Ntangki National Park; and NDPP members Namwangdaule, Leiseu, Namheile, Ilia, Kungausape, Lala, and Nambe Thou.
