Speaking at a thanksgiving program organized by Tosovi Tase, the NDPP candidate from Ward 14, on July 3 at Kisama, Kire emphasized the importance of perseverance. Despite his electoral defeat, Tase held the event to express gratitude to his supporters.

Kire and Tase urged party members to continue serving the community, highlighting the party’s motto “Deeds not words” and the significance of Christian principles in guiding their actions. Kire shared his own experience of losing an election and encouraged the unsuccessful candidates to seek guidance and purpose from God.

Tase acknowledged the hard work and sacrifice of his supporters during the election and congratulated the winning candidate. He assured the community of his continued service in any capacity and promised that his doors would always be open to them.

Despite some individual losses, the NDPP had an impressive overall performance in the election across the state. In the election for the Kohima Municipal Council (KMC), 8 out of 13 NDPP candidates won, including 5 who were declared elected unopposed.

Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio’s message, conveyed by Kire, urged party members to persist in their community service and work collectively for the betterment of the community.
