Janata Dal (United) candidate for 28 Koridang Assembly Constituency, T Chalukumba Ao appealed to the voters to elect the best among the four candidates from the constituency who are in the fray for the 14th Nagaland Legislative Assembly Election scheduled to be held on February 27.
Speaking to the media after reaching his native village Chungtia and setting up his election campaigning camp at his elder brother’s residence on Saturday, the JD(U) candidate said, “There was apprehension on my part; however, no untoward incident has happened till now and the situation is calm and peaceful in the village. I will declare my candidature within a few days after consultation with the village council.”
He continued by appealing to the people of the 28 Koridang Assembly Constituency to maintain peace and tranquility in order to have an impartial election. “Vote for the best candidate among the four to represent the people,” he urged.
Meanwhile, speaking to the media, Chungtia Village Council Chairman, N Bendang also stated that Chungtia village is preparing to conduct a free and fair election.
It may be mentioned here that four candidates, namely Major Toshikaba (Retd.) of NPF, Imkong L Imchen of BJP, T Chalukumba Ao of JD(U) and Independent candidate I Talitsuba Imchen are in a quadrangular contest in the 28 Koridang Assembly Constituency for the 14th Nagaland Legislative Assembly Election.
