Mokokchung, 3 August (MTNews): The District Education Officer (DEO) of Mokokchung, Sentinenla, has announced the selection of four outstanding teachers for the District Teacher’s Award 2023, recognizing their exceptional dedication and service to humanity.
The selection, carried out by the District Selection Committee for the District Teacher’s Award 2023, identified these four educators in recognition of their meritorious service toward humanity, a notification from the DEO said.
The awardee-teachers are Imkongyabang PT from GHS, Saring; Imojungla GT from GHS, Sumi; Bendangakum HT from GMS, Changtongya “A”; and S. Bendangla Ao AT from Children School, Mokokchung.
The awards ceremony is scheduled to take place at the 62nd Teacher’s Day Celebration organized by the Ao Students’ Conference (AKM) on 5 September. The event will be held at the Conference Hall of Hotel Whispering Winds.
Lanulemba Longchar, the Education Secretary of AKM, shared that this year’s celebration would differ from previous years. Instead of a combined event, individual schools expressed their desire to celebrate Teacher’s Day separately. Additionally, a scheduling conflict arose due to AKM’s participation in the recently concluded Naga Students’ Federation General Conference in Ukhrul, Manipur.
This year’s program will be a solemn affair, with a focus on recognizing the awardees. Department heads from the district will also attend the event to show their appreciation for the honored teachers’ invaluable contributions to education and society, he said.
