FSSAI certifies FBO units in Mokokchung Zone

Mokokchung, October 13 (MTNews): In a first of its kind in Mokokchung Zone, under the initiative of Food Safety & Standard Authority of India (FSSAI) and Department of Health & Family Welfare, Nagaland, various Food Safety activities/audit were conducted by MS Certification Services LTD, Kolkata – an FSSAI empaneled agency and Food Safety wing, Mokokchung Zone.

 

The Food Safety Mokokchung Zone encompasses four districts including Mokokchung, Zunheboto, Tuensang and Longleng.

According to a press release from the CMO Office, Mokokchung, 58 numbers of Food Business Operators (FBOs) including SHGs were trained & certified on Food Safety Training and Certification (FoSTaC).

 

The press note further informed that 20 restaurants and cafes were audited for hygiene rating out of which 6 achieved ‘excellent’ and 14 achieved ‘very good’ rating.

 

Meanwhile, out of 5 high risk units such as bakery and hotel that were accessed, 2 got A+ and 3 got ‘ B’ rating.

 

One fruit and vegetable market in Mokokchung was certified as clean fruit and vegetable market.

 

Meanwhile, Clark theological college (CTC) and Fazl Ali College Mokokchung were certified as models for ‘Eat right campus’.

 

23 Assam Rifles Mokokchung Mandir was also audited and certified under BHOG (Blissful & Hygenic Offering to God).

 

Further, 2 residential Schools, one in Mokokchung and the other in Zunheboto District are under the process of certification as models under Eat Right School.

 

Designated Officer, C. Merenlemba said that the upcoming cycle will cover the remaining districts of the Zone.
