Open Tournament concludes in Shamator
The two-day Girls’ Volleyball Coaching-cum-Open Tournament, organized by DHEW-BBBP, concluded on March 27, 2025, at the Local Ground in Shamator. The event saw enthusiastic participation, with 22 teams and 150 players from across Shamator District competing.
Shipong Ward-II clinched the championship title, while Government Higher Secondary School Ward finished as runners-up.
Deputy Commissioner of Shamator, Chubatemjen, graced the event as the special guest. In his closing remarks, he encouraged the young athletes to strive for excellence and aspire to represent the district in prestigious competitions. The tournament was attended by officials from various NGOs, adding to the significance of the initiative in promoting women’s sports in the district.
