NPF alleges RSS-linked agenda behind university’s activities

The Naga People’s Front (NPF) has expressed serious concern over the alleged scamming of Rev Dr Motso Ngullie, former Vice Chancellor of the Global Open University Nagaland, based on a breaking news interview released by the Nagaland News Network (NNN).

According to the interview, Rev Dr Motso Ngullie “claims to have set up The Global Open University” and served as its Vice Chancellor. He alleges that he was scammed by one Dr Priyaranjan Trivedi. Rev Ngullie further stated that when he lodged a formal complaint, “His Excellency the then Governor also remarked that the scamming was a serious issue that needs to be looked into.”

However, the NPF noted that “the issue seems to be kept in cold storage thus far.”

The party pointed out that the University’s headquarters, originally located in Wokha, has since been shifted to Chümoukedima.

In 2025, it has reportedly been renamed “International University” — a move that the NPF claims is “apparently a derivation from ‘World Hindu University’ putting in ‘International’ instead of ‘World’ and dropping ‘Hindu’ so as to try to win over non-Hindus and is said to be founded by Dr. Priyaranjan Trivedi.

The NPF also highlighted that the renamed University now houses a library named after RSS founder Dr Keshav Baliram Hedgewar. They pointed out that “Dr. Trivedi is found on YouTube profoundly promoting the Vishwa Hindu Vidyapeeth (World Hindu University)” and advocating the need for such Universities in order to propagate the Hindu thoughts and philosophies.

The Naga People’s Front (NPF) said it is disturbed by the allegations made against Dr Priyaranjan Trivedi and is “curious about the intention behind setting up educational institutions in Nagaland.” While the party emphasized that it “respects all religions and understands their faith and beliefs” and believes “everyone is free to practice their beliefs,” it stated that “when the red line is crossed clandestinely at the cost of others,” there is a need to raise concerns.

According to the NPF, Dr Trivedi appears to be “popularizing the Vishwa Hindu Vidyapeeth (World Hindu University) all over the world,” and the party expressed surprise at “how boldly Dr. Trivedi is doing so,” suggesting that he is “being backed and protected by higher-ups.”

The NPF, therefore, cautioned the people to be vigilant against “the clandestine tactics of RSS policies that have penetrated into the Christian-majority Nagaland.” Citing a recent incident, the party reminded that the “Gau Dhwaj (cow flag) installation in Kohima, organised by Jagadguru Shankaracharya Avimuktesh waranand Maharaj of Jyotirmath on September 28, 2024, was thwarted through the people’s voice.”

The party called for “a united Naga voice to stand against these forces” which it said are “trying to destroy the secular fabric of India and inculcate extremist and dangerous ideologies among the Nagas.”
