The Global Naga Forum (GNF) expressed sadness at the passing of Prof. A. Lanunungsang Ao, who described him as a towering figure in the academic world, a courageous soul with a generous heart, and above all, a true Naga patriot.

The GNF said in a condolence message that his legacy in nurturing Nagaland University during its formative years as Pro Vice Chancellor will forever be etched in the history of the land.

“He was not only a distinguished academician but also a celebrated author who dedicated his life to enlightening and empowering our people through his writings and wisdom. His contributions to education, literature, and the Naga society at large are immeasurable,” the GNF said.

“In his quiet strength and unwavering dedication, he inspired generations and gave voice to our shared aspirations,” the GNF added. The GNF said that his absence leaves a void that cannot be filled, and added that his spirit will live on in the many lives he touched.

“The Global Naga Forum extends its deepest condolences to the bereaved family members. May God grant you strength and comfort during this time of profound grief. Prof. A. Lanunungsang Ao’s legacy will continue to shine as a beacon of hope and pride for all Nagas,” it conveyed.
