NPF Legislature Party Leader and UDA Co- Chairman, Kuzholuzo Nienu, said today that the Government of India is willing to “incorporate the Yezhabo in the Constitution” and to allow the Naga people to hoist the Naga flag in local or cultural events.
Addressing some media persons in Kohima today, Neinu said, “If the NSCN (IM) can come to these terms, the Government of India will look into the competent clauses and will address accordingly.”
While apprising on the Core Committee’s recent trip to Delhi, he said that they apprised the Union Government’s representative AK Mishra over the discontentment of the NSCN (IM) on Mishra’s offer on funding to be given through the state governments.
He said Ravi’s offer was on setting up of “Regional Autonomous Territorial Council in the Naga inhabited areas where the fund will be directly provided to the council.” On this issue, Neinu said Mishra is ready to offer what Ravi offered. He also said that the Seven NNPGs Agreed Position is already concluded and there is nothing much to discuss.
On how the center is bringing the NSCN(IM) and NNPGs together for the final inking, Neinu said Mishra had given a rough idea, saying that once an understanding arrives on the matter of “constitution and flag,” the two groups’ proposals will be compared and finalized. Neinu informed that the Core Committee will be holding a meeting tomorrow and thereafter will be sitting with the NSCN (IM).
