Gorkha Youth Club Dimapur (GYCD) organized a felicitation program for Hem Bahadur Chetri, a professional cricketer, for being awarded the MA Chidambaram Trophy for the highest run-getter in the Col CK Nayudu Trophy (U-23) on February 6 at Tourist Lodge, Dimapur.
At the felicitation program, Hem Bahadur Chetri expressed his heartfelt appreciation for the support, guidance, and encouragement he had received. He thanked GYCD for organizing the program and acknowledged the various organizations and individuals who celebrated his success. He stated that he was honored to be a part of the program and extended his gratitude to the Nagaland Cricket Association.
The program also featured felicitations by various Gorkha unions, including GYCD, Nagaland Gorkha Association, All Nagaland Gorkha Students’ Union, Dimapur Gorkha Union, Gorkha Students’ Union Dimapur, Singrijan/Khopanala Village Council, Gorkha Students’ Union Chümoukedima, Hamro Chinari Nagaland Prant, Dimapur District Gorkha Indigenous Forum, Gorkha Hindu Milan Sewa Sangh, Gorkha Christian Alliance, Tamang Buddhist Welfare Society, and Chümoukedima District Gorkha Union.
Short speeches were delivered by Vice President of the Nagaland Gorkha Association, Suraj Rai; National Secretary (Youth Affairs & Sports) of Bharatiya Gorkha Yuva Parisangh, Ankur Sangpang Rai; representatives from DDGIF, Gorkha Union Dimapur, Gorkha Students’ Union Dimapur, Hamro Chinari Nagaland Prant, All Nagaland Gorkha Students’ Union, and Captain and Owner of Esa Warriors, Along Pongen.
Earlier, the program was chaired by Prakash Sherestha, with an invocation by GYCD President Sanjay Chetri, a welcome address by GYCD President Sumit Sunar, and a vote of thanks by GYCD General Secretary Siddhart Rai.
