Sukho Movi, a non-teaching staff member of Nagaland University, was honored by the Governor of Nagaland, La Ganesan, at Raj Bhavan on June 30, 2024. The Governor presented him with a certificate of appreciation for his significant contribution to environmental protection through his One Man Clean-Safe Campaign. The certificate was awarded during the screening of the Mann Ki Baat Programme at Raj Bhavan, Kohima, on the same day.
Movi, who began his tenure at Nagaland University as an LDC in 1997 and was promoted to UDC in 2013, has received notable recognition for his service. In 2017, he was awarded the Governor’s Gold Medal for Distinguished Service, and he was appointed as the Special Ambassador for Swachh Bharat Phek District in 2018 by the Governor of Nagaland. Further adding to his accolades, he was named the best Non-Teaching Staff of Nagaland University for the year 2023.
The Nagaland University community further commended Movi for his exceptional efforts, which extend well beyond his official duties.
The Governor of Nagaland, La Ganesan, on 1 July 2024, as part of Van Mahotsav, also planted a tree at Raj Bhavan, Kohima in honor of his mother and urged everyone to join the #Plant4Mother campaign.
The ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’, #Plant4Mother campaign was launched on World Environment Day, by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, urging the citizens and people worldwide to join the tree plantation initiative with their mother to celebrate both motherhood and the environment.
