The Governor of Nagaland, La Ganesan, lauded the spirit of dedication, discipline, and service displayed by the National Cadet Corps (NCC) cadets during a felicitation program at Raj Bhavan, Kohima. The event, which coincided with the screening of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Mann Ki Baat broadcast, celebrated the achievements of NCC cadets who have brought laurels to the state.
Addressing the gathering, Governor Ganesan expressed his immense pleasure in celebrating the cadets’ accomplishments, emphasizing the NCC’s role in shaping character, instilling patriotism, and grooming future leaders of the nation.
“The NCC is much more than a youth organization—it is a movement that shapes character, instills patriotism, and grooms the future leaders of our great nation. Today, we felicitate cadets who have brought pride to our state through their remarkable accomplishments. Some of you marched with pride at the All-India Republic Day Parade in New Delhi, while others brought home medals from national events and youth camps. Many of you have excelled in various NCC programs with distinction, and a few have even earned the opportunity to join the prestigious National Defence Academy,” he said.
He further noted that these achievements are not just personal milestones but a testament to the cadets’ hard work, perseverance, and the values that the NCC upholds. Highlighting the impact of Mann Ki Baat, the Governor stated that the program has continuously recognized individuals and organizations contributing to society, and today’s event extended that recognition to NCC cadets, who embody the spirit of nation-building.
“The NCC molds the youth into disciplined, responsible, and patriotic citizens, equipping them with leadership qualities that will guide our country forward. By honoring you today, we do not just celebrate your individual successes but also aim to inspire countless other young minds to join the NCC,” the Governor remarked.
Encouraging more youth to participate in the NCC, he urged them to embrace the values of Seva aur Samarpan (Service and Dedication), whether they choose to serve in the armed forces, civil services, or any other profession.
“I once again extend my heartfelt congratulations to all the cadets and other ranks being felicitated today. Your achievements make Nagaland proud, and I have no doubt that you will continue to shine as torchbearers of our nation’s future. I also commend the NCC officers, trainers, and parents for nurturing these young talents,” he added.
The Governor concluded by calling upon everyone to encourage more youth to join the NCC and contribute to the nation-building process, envisioning a stronger, united, and prosperous Bharat.
During the event, outstanding NCC cadets were felicitated for their exemplary performance in various fields, including leadership, community service, and participation in national-level events.
The Governor presented certificates to the awardees as a token of appreciation. Officials from the Governor’s Secretariat, NCC officers, Assam Rifles personnel, PRO Defence, and other dignitaries were present at the function.
