During this occasion, the Nagaland State Bharat Scouts and Guides officially appointed Governor La Ganesan as their Chief Patron. State Organizing Commissioner (Scout) John Tochimong conducted the induction in the presence of officials and attendees.

In his acceptance speech, the newly appointed Chief Patron, Governor La Ganesan, expressed his joy and gratitude for being chosen as the Chief Patron of Nagaland State Bharat Scouts and Guides. He emphasized that Bharat Scouts and Guides is a voluntary, non-political, and educational movement for young people, open to all without any distinctions of origin, race, or creed. He highlighted that the movement follows the purpose, principles, and methods established by its founder, Lord Baden Powell, in 1907.
Governor La Ganesan explained that the aim of the movement is to support the development of young individuals in reaching their full physical, intellectual, social, and spiritual potential, both as responsible citizens and members of the local, national, and international communities. He mentioned that the Scout Guide movement is present in 216 countries and territories worldwide under the World Organization of Scout Movement (WOSM), as well as 152 countries under the World Organization of Girl Guide and Girl Scout (WAGGGS). He expressed his delight at the movement’s active and important role in shaping the character of the youth in Nagaland, contributing to communal harmony, friendship, and secularism, thereby promoting progress and prosperity in a peaceful environment.
The Governor highlighted the need to expand the activities of Bharat Scouts and Guides to remote and inaccessible areas of the state, in order to involve as many youth as possible. He encouraged the Scouts and Guides to become ambassadors of peace, spreading the values of mutual respect and brotherhood within society.
The program began with a keynote and welcome address by S Keoshu Yimkhiung, Advisor Youth Resource and President NSBSG, who also presented the Chief Patron Medallion to Governor La Ganesan.
