Kohima, 27 March (MTNews): Governor of Nagaland La. Ganesan today interacted with a group of students under the Students’ Experiences in Inter-State Living (SEIL) as part of the students’ National Integration Tour-2023 at the Dr Imkongliba Hall, Raj Bhavan.
Speaking at the function, the Governor said that the SEIL was founded in the year 1965 as an initiative of the then members of Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad under the Presidentship of Acharaya Giriraj Kishore.
The Governor apprised the students that SEIL has been helping in promoting a sense of oneness among every student of the country especially in promoting the feeling of brotherhood between the youths from Northeast India and the rest of the Nation, through annual study tours and cultural exchange programs.
Commending SEIL, he said it has also been working for skill development, financial literacy and education among the North Eastern youths. In commemoration of Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav, 482 students from the Northeast were sent to 21 states in February.
SEIL 2023, co-coordinator Nagaland Tharila Yim who delivered a welcome address said that it is mainly focused on the NER of India to connect with the rest of the states and a sense of unity among the states. She said 82 tribes from the entire NE states were sent to all parts of India on 2nd February 2023,out of which, this year Nagaland had 12 tribes from 10 different districts numbering 38 students who were sent to visit the states of India to learn the culture and traditions of different states.
