Governor visits Tuophema, experiences cultural heritage and community tourism

Governor of Nagaland Nand Kishore Yadav visited Tuophema Village on Sunday and experienced the village’s cultural heritage, traditional practices and community-based tourism initiatives.

The Governor was accorded a warm welcome on his arrival at Tuophema. As part of the visit, women from the village presented a traditional weaving demonstration at the Naga Kitchen, showcasing indigenous weaving traditions and local craftsmanship.

During the Tuophema Experience tour, the Governor visited several cultural and community attractions, including Kharu, Tuophema Amphitheatre, the Ancestral Kense’s Hut, Tuophezhu Hall and the Regional Craft and Resource Centre.

The visit highlighted the village’s efforts to preserve its cultural heritage while promoting sustainable tourism, traditional crafts and livelihood opportunities for the local community.

The tour also showcased Tuophema’s blend of cultural heritage, traditional practices and natural resources, along with its community-led approach to tourism development.
