Acting on specific intelligence inputs, the Crime Control Cell (CCC) of the GPRN/NSCN has intercepted an organized sex trafficking operation in and around Dimapur, rescuing two local girls and apprehending one accused during an operation carried out on the evening of December 29, 2025.

According to a statement issued by the Kilo (Home) Affairs, GPRN/NSCN through its MIP from Khehoyi designated camp, the operation was conducted following reports of flesh trade activities  in and around Dimapur. During the interception, the CCC rescued two local girls and took them into safe custody. One individual, identified as Fazul Haque of Baragram in Assam, who is presently residing in Dimapur, was apprehended for his alleged involvement in trafficking, harbouring and sexual exploitation. A local taxi, an Alto car, was also seized during the operation.

The statement said that during interrogation, it was revealed that Fazul Haque, along with another individual identified as Mohit Uddin, a resident of 7th Mile, Chumoukedima, had been regularly engaged in sex trafficking activities. It was further established that the seized Alto taxi bearing registration number NL 07T 0770, owned by one Babul of Singrijan, was allegedly being used frequently for the illegal flesh trade.

While the operation was carried out in accordance with due procedure and further investigation was underway, the CCC stated that a complaint had subsequently been filed with the police by certain individuals, reportedly claiming association with the arrested person, regarding the apprehension of the accused and the seizure of the vehicle.

Clarifying the matter, the GPRN/NSCN said the complaint appeared to be retaliatory in nature and aimed at obstructing the investigation and diluting the seriousness of offences related to human trafficking. “All actions taken during the interception, rescue and arrest are supported by evidence and are subject to be taken up as and when need arises,” the statement said.

The GPRN/NSCN reiterated that it remains committed to curbing criminal activities and anti social elements, especially exploitation of the local populace.
