The GPRN/NSCN led by Maj (Retd.) RM Lotha (President) and N Kitovi Zhimomi (Ato Kilonser) organised a felicitation ceremony on 28th October 2024 at 5th Mile Chumukedima, to honour Hokato Sema who brought laurels to the country by winning Bronze medal in the Men’s Shot Put F57 category at the 2024 Paris Paralympic Games.

The ceremony highlighted Hokato Sema’s inspirational journey and his remarkable achievement on the international stage, which has filled the Indian Nation and the Nagas of Nagaland in particular with pride.

N Kitovi Zhimomi (Ato Kilonser) acknowledged Hokato’s exceptional contribution to the Nagas. He highlighted how Dr Tali Ao captained Indian football team in the London 1948 Olympics and brought laurels to the country. Since then, the Nagas have waited for long 75 years, until on the 76th year, Hokato Sema the Bronze Medalist brought not only victory but good name to all the Naga Nation. Mr. Hokato Sema bringing exemplary success from Paris Paralympic games is a great example for all the Naga younger generation to follow. If young Nagas were properly brought up with the proper infrastructure and facilities from the State Government then surely, we would see more of Dr. Tali Ao and Mr. Hokato Sema among our youths competing and participating not only in the National level but also in the international level.

The event was attended by Political Cabinet Members, Naga Army officers, Kilonser’s and HOD’s of all Departments to celebrate his inspiring journey and outstanding achievement.
