Kohima Town Club all set to host the exhibition match between Kohima Town Club XI and Kangleipak Pari, a team consisting of Indian Super League players from Manipur on Saturday at IG stadium Kohima, 5:30 pm onwards.
This is the first time in Nagaland that a club, in partnership with the Kohima Forest Division, will host an exhibition match to promote sports while also raising environmental awareness.
The exhibition match seeks to raise environmental awareness while also providing exposure to rising state players by pitting them against Manipur’s premier Indian Super League side.
Around 2000 seedlings will be presented to fans and players on the eve of World Environment Day as part of a green pledge.
As the special guest, Dr. Neikiesalie (Nicky) Kire, Advisor for Urban Development and Municipal Affairs, will be present. The game will take place at the astro turf ground IG Stadium Kohima and will be a night match. The exhibition has an admission charge of Rs. 100 for each attendee.
It is to be noted that the Kohima Town Club XI side was picked from the recently concluded Kohima Super Cup 2022, while Mohammad Nawaz, a goalkeeper for Mumbai City FC, Amarjit Singh Kiyam, a former U-17 world Cup captain for India, Chinglensana Singh, a defender for India, Mohammad Yasir, who recently won the ISL Trophy with Hyderabad FC, Bipin Singh Thounaojam, and others are among the renowned ISL players from Manipur.
