Jubilee Memorial College (JMC) Mokokchung warmly welcomed the incoming batch of 2025 on Monday, hosting an induction programme designed to guide, encourage, and connect the newest members of its academic community.
The programme began with the arrival of freshers on campus, greeted by faculty members and senior students who assisted them through the registration process. The first session, hosted by Nukshinaro, commenced with an invocation led by Kilangnaro. Principal Dr. Imtiwati Jamir delivered the welcome and keynote address, encouraging students to approach this new chapter with intentionality and commitment. He noted that college life can be complex, but if navigated purposefully, it lays the foundation for a fulfilling future.
The importance of discipline and respect was underscored by Dr. Sashimatsung, Convenor of the Discipline Committee. He clearly outlined the college’s code of conduct, emphasizing that JMC is a tobacco-free zone and highlighting expectations regarding proper uniform and respectful interactions among all members of the college. Chubaienla Imchen introduced the various skill and add-on courses available to students, as well as the vibrant range of clubs they can join. Lastly, to ease the practical aspects of admission, John Diengdoh and Mulato led a step-by-step demonstration on digital transactions and the online enrolment process.
After the morning’s presentations, students took part in recreational activities coordinated by Imlikokba and Yimsor. The games and group exercises created a friendly atmosphere, allowing freshers to relax, share laughter, and begin forming new connections with their peers.
Following the lunch break, the second session centered on the theme “Grooming to Bloom: Vision for Success.” Sentipongla Walling, 5th Semester, shared her own experiences, encouraging the freshers to embrace every opportunity, remain adaptable, and give their best in all pursuits.
The session continued with an insightful address by Imtiwala, Mission Coordinator of MTBA. Speaking about the importance of self-awareness and academic integrity, she challenged students to engage their minds rather than relying solely on artificial intelligence. Her message highlighted the value of wisdom, learning, and faith in shaping character and purpose. The session concluded with a benediction offered by Yimnayanger, the college counselor.
In the final session, students met their mentors in small groups for consultation and orientation. This time allowed them to ask questions, share aspirations, and receive guidance tailored to their academic journey.
