In a disturbing incident on the evening of July 18, 2024, unidentified armed miscreants shot a staff member of Ankit Transport located in NST Colony, Dimapur, injuring him in the leg.
Reacting to the incident, the Joint Council Forum (JCF) of Churches Colony, NST Colony and Middle Point along with the residents of NST Colony expressed outrage over the horrific incident.
“This senseless and cowardly act is a stark reminder of the violence and lawlessness that continues to plague our society. We condemn this heinous crime in the strongest possible terms and demand that the authorities take immediate and decisive action to apprehend the perpetrators and bring them to justice,” the Joint Council Forum stated in a press statement.
The JCF said that such incidents only serve to perpetuate fear, insecurity, and uncertainty among citizens.
“We cannot and will not tolerate such senseless violence in our jurisdiction, at a time when the entire Naga community is united in its quest for peace, reconciliation, and development,” it added.
The JCF urged the authorities to launch a thorough investigation into the incident and ensure that the perpetrators are brought to justice. The JCF further appealed to the public to come forward with any information that may assist in the investigation.
