Several house roofing and crops were damaged in Longchem Town under Mokokchung district on Thursday, 20 April by strong winds and hailstorm.
According to A Chuba Longkumer, Vice-Chairman, Longchem Adhoc Town Committee, approximately 22 house rooftops as well as various crops including trees were damaged and a few electrical poles and lines were also destroyed resulting in a power outage.
“The Longchem Town Committee inspected the scene today and also took the initiative of repairing those damaged power lines,” the VC stated, adding that the incident had been reported to EAC Longchem.
EAC Longchem, N Orenthung Kikon told Mokokchung Times that the damage assessments are continuing and that further information will be available tomorrow (Saturday).
