Mokokchung, October 25 (MTNews): The Women Department of Chuchuyimpang Baptist Church (CBC) organized a handicraft and knitting and weaving training session at Chuchuyimpang village, Mokokchung on October 24, as part of the CBC Women Department’s resolution to teach young people how to knit and make crafts. Three sessions of the training were given in 2022. The initial training took place in April 16, the second on August 19, and the most recent session took place on Monday.
Kazünungsang and Limakumzük were the resource persons for the handicraft training, while representatives of the women’s department were the resource people for the knitting. A competition was also organized among the participants using the items made during the training sessions.
During a brief closing ceremony, Rev.I. Wati Imsong, Pastor, CBC, delivered a brief exhortation, and S. Amongla, Asso. Pastor (Women), CBC, distributed the awards. The competition was divided into two categories: chicken coop and basket weaving for males and cap and socks knitting for females.
The training was given with the intention of educating the young people on how to preserve our traditional handicraft, traditional weaving, and knitting.
