Hanging Libraries for four government schools under the Khongsa Aspirational Block and one government school under the Pungro Block were handed over by Yithachu Thur (NCS), EAC & Nodal Officer (ABP) Pungro, to the head teachers on 16 September 2024 at the EBRC Hall, Pungro.
Donated by Books For All (BFA) Noida, this initiative is a collaboration between the Piramal Foundation (ABC) Kiphire and EBRC Pungro. The aim of the project is to instill a reading habit among children and improve learning outcomes. The unique feature of the Hanging Library is that it requires no dedicated space or infrastructure, as it can be easily hung on walls. Each Hanging Library contains 100 beautifully illustrated storybooks in English.
The beneficiaries of the Hanging Library include GPS Iponger, GMS Khongsa, GHS Mimi, GMS Moya, and GMS Khongjiri, impacting over 200 students enrolled in these schools.
