Heavy rainfall has triggered flooding, landslides and damage to roads and bridges in several parts of Nagaland, disrupting connectivity and prompting restoration and damage assessment works by district authorities, NSDMA reported in a press statement.
According to the latest situation update issued by the Nagaland State Disaster Management Authority (NSDMA), several rain-related incidents have been reported across Chümoukedima, Peren, Meluri, Phek, Noklak and Kiphire districts.
In Chümoukedima, a portion of the road connecting Jharnapani via Molvom was washed away, while a road and culvert between New Chümoukedima and Ruzaphema Village were also damaged. Waterlogging was reported at Ward-9. The Khughovi Bridge over the Chathe River has been closed to public use after the river rose to a dangerous level.
Debris along NH-29 near the Dzüdza River has been cleared and traffic movement restored.
In Meluri, floodwaters inundated paddy fields, while hanging bridges at Tetsho and Jijirii were washed away by flash floods, affecting local connectivity.
Phek district reported a landslide between Chizami and Mesulumi and a mudslide near Thuvopisu Village along the Phek–Chozouba Road. Road clearance operations have been undertaken at affected stretches, while the blockage between Losami and Phek Village has been cleared.
In Noklak, DDMA personnel cleared a landslide along the 14-km stretch of the Noklak–Saddle Road. Fresh landslides were also reported along the Tsuwao–Noklak route, where authorities are assessing the situation.

Flooding and waterlogging were reported at Kelielwa Colony in Jalukie, Peren, while in Kiphire, land instability has affected a retaining wall and the Food & Civil Supplies (F&CS) godown staff quarters at Jail Ward, posing a potential risk to nearby residents.
Restoration and damage assessment works are continuing in the affected areas.
The NSDMA has advised residents to remain vigilant during the monsoon and avoid unnecessary travel through flood- and landslide-prone areas. It also urged the public to follow advisories issued by district authorities.
