The Nagaland State Disaster Management Authority (NSDMA), Home Department, has issued a weather advisory forecasting widespread rainfall across all districts of Nagaland from July 1 to July 8, 2025.
According to the update, these monsoon showers may be accompanied by thunderstorms and lightning in most parts of the state. Heavy rainfall is predicted across several districts between July 2 and 6, with very heavy rainfall expected in Kiphire and Tuensang on July 2 and 3.
The NSDMA has advised residents to exercise caution during this period, warning of possible disruptions due to lightning, strong winds, and water-logging. The authority also cautioned that road transport and connectivity may be affected, particularly in lowland and foothill areas such as Dimapur, Niuland, Chümoukedima, Bhandari, Baghty, Tizit, and Tuli, which are vulnerable to flash floods and inundation.
In view of the forecast, the NSDMA has urged the public to remain vigilant and take necessary precautions to avoid any untoward incidents. All District Disaster Management Authorities (DDMAs) and line departments have been requested to remain on high alert to safeguard lives and property during this monsoon period.
