The Deputy Commissioner of Mokokchung has issued a travel advisory restricting vehicular movement along two road stretches in the district following damage caused by incessant rain over the past several days.
According to the advisory, a wing wall and a retaining wall have collapsed along two routes: the road from Alongchen to Mangkolemba via Mopungchuket Village, and the road from Alongchen to Mokokchung via Yimchalu Village.
The advisory stated that light vehicles may ply with extreme caution; however, there will be a complete closure of movement for heavy vehicles until further notice. The order came into effect from the date of issue, August 29, 2025.
