Kohima, July 22 (MTNews): Health & Family Welfare Department has issued a press release stating that India celebrated administering over two crore COVID-19 vaccine doses on 15th July 2022 which would not have been possible without the innovative initiatives and support from the people. Nagaland has currently administered more than 16.90 lakh COVID -19 doses. Vaccinated 58.8% of our eligible beneficiaries with 1st Dose, 46.8% with 2nd Dose, and more than 42,000 vaccinated with Precaution Dose.

 

With the recent rise in COVID-19 positivity rate in our State, the Directorate of Health & Family Welfare has requested all the beneficiaries due for the first, second, and precaution dose to avail of the services at the earliest in the Government Covid Vaccination Centers (CVCs).

 

As on 20th July 2022, Nagaland has more than 1.75 lakh beneficiaries who are due/ overdue for their 2nd dose and more than 5.6 lakh beneficiaries who are eligible for Precaution Dose. To vaccinate the due beneficiaries, the Government of India has announced the newer initiative – Azadi Mahotsav – to provide free precaution dose at all the Government CVCs for 75 days (30 Sept.) and Har Ghar Dastak which is till the 31st of July 2022.

 

As COVID -19 cases are on the rise in the Country/State, the Directorate of Health & Family Welfare has once again reminded the public that vaccination, masking, Hand washing/sanitizing, and social distancing are the best way to prevent the spread of COVID-19 infection.
