Kohima, 9 June (MTNews): The Directorate of Health & Family Welfare, Nagaland has taken action against the Popsicle Ice Cream Factory in Dimapur following a video that raised concerns about its operations that went viral.
The State Program Officer (Food Safety), Dr John Kemp, revealed that an inspection was conducted by the Food Safety Team in Dimapur, leading to the issuance of an improvement notice to the factory’s proprietor under section 32 of the FSS Act 2006.
As part of the inspection process, samples were collected by the Food Safety Officer in Dimapur for quality testing at a State Food NABL Accredited laboratory.
The proprietor of the Popsicle Ice Cream Factory has been given a 14-day period to comply with the improvement notice and implement necessary corrective measures in accordance with the FSSA Rules and Regulations. Failure to meet these requirements within the given timeframe may result in legal action being taken against the Food Business Operator.
