Kohima, 24 November (MTNews): Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio chaired a meeting at the Bamboo Heritage Hall, Kisama, on November 24, 2023, with various line and sectoral departments to discuss preparations for the upcoming Hornbill Festival 2023. Expressing his satisfaction with the progress, Chief Minister Rio shared that numerous guests, including international officials, are expected to attend the festival. He urged all concerned parties to address various challenges to ensure the festival’s success.
Emphasizing the importance of cleanliness, Rio called on the community to raise awareness and provide tourists with a pleasant stay, encouraging the business community to offer quality products at competitive prices.
Rio also applauded the Eastern Nagaland People’s Organization (ENPO) for their commitment to participating in the festival. Acknowledging the festival’s growth over the years, he expressed hope for even greater success, especially as the 25th edition is scheduled for 2024. During the day, the Chief Minister inspected the preparations at Kisama.
In addition, the Chief Minister also inaugurated the Food and Music Festival at Imagiland, Kisama, on the same day. The festival, held on November 24 and 25, serves as a prelude to the Hornbill Festival. Organized by the Ministry of Tourism and Nagaland Tourism, the two-day event features live music concerts, food stalls, a kids’ carnival, art installations, a book corner, and more.
