Kohima, 24 November (MTNews): A Tax Payers Lounge at the 24th Hornbill Festival, Kisama Heritage Village, Kohima, from 1st – 10th December will be inaugurated by Member (TPS), Central Board of Direct Taxes, HBS Gill, IRS, on 1st December 2023. He will be visiting as the State Guest of the Government of Nagaland, PIB Kohima informed.
On the 2nd day of the event, it was announced that a skit will be performed by Dreamz Unlimited, conveying messages on the need for paying taxes, the ease of compliance in the online regime, and contribution to nation-building through tax paying.
The Taxpayers Lounge will have three kiosks: Information kiosks, Grievance kiosk, and Educational kiosk. The Lounge will be manned by senior experienced officers/officials and will provide information to taxpayers, obtain suggestions, and help resolve various issues faced by the taxpayers.
There will be one children’s corner to educate future taxpayers of the country. An interesting quiz program will be conducted in the Lounge, and gifts will be given to the participants. In the Artists’ Corner of the Lounge, artists will perform various art forms such as songs, dancing, mime, painting, sketching, Cosplay, magic, handicrafts, promoting local talents of the region.
The Lounge will guide taxpayers on issues like the e-Verification Scheme 2021, tax exemption u/s 10(26) for tribals, compliance with Income Tax notices, e-filing of Income Tax Return and benefits, Tax deducted at source, queries related to tax compliance, PAN-related matters, etc. Visitors to the Lounge will also be provided with data and information by way of soft copies of PPTs, brochures, pamphlets for perusal at leisure and dissemination in relevant groups of stakeholders.”
